We believe in the power of business to better our world. We are creating a long-term enterprise founded on our team’s core values to sustain a positive social, environmental and economic impact.
Founded by Xavier Curtis and Eliza Richman in 2013, we’ve grown from the first ever food tour in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, to leading trips through three countries. Eliza has also launched Keentu to showcase the exceptional craftsmanship of Africa with three boutiques in Rwanda.
We’re proud to consistently receive excellent feedback from our guests and to have worked with Anthony Bourdain for CNN, National Geographic, the New York Times and Conde Nast, among other publications. We bring over 25 years of combined hospitality experience and buckets of enthusiasm to build our business and livelihoods in Africa.
We go further to give our guests what they’re searching for: a fulfilling, memorable and joyful shared experience of travel.
We believe in the power of business to do good and drive transformational change. We strive to live and work with excellence, curiosity and integrity. We endeavour to take care of our guests, our team and our shared world.
We look at the long term impact of decisions made today, especially in the travel industry, and take responsibility. Aware of our local and wider environment, we work hard to minimize our carbon footprint at every step and to contribute to a rich and flourishing environment.
We work hard to support and learn from each other and prize each individual.
We are stronger for our diversity but we also share a passion for hospitality, deep curiosity and a love of travel.
I’m the eldest of five boys so I’m used to being a group leader! As a certified interpretive guide, I’ve been guiding guests through Kigali and Rwanda for over eight years, and I especially enjoy sharing the culture and history of my homeland.
I graduated in 2018 from the University of Tourism with a BA in Travel and Tourism Management and I have been busy welcoming guests to my home country of Rwanda ever since! I’m fluent in Kinyarwanda, English and French and I’m always excited to meet new people, to learn about their culture, languages and more!
I was born and educated in central Uganda, so I’m fluent in Luganda, Kinyarwanda and English, and I’ve recently started to learn German. I graduated in Wildlife and Natural Resource Management and trained as a guide to lead guests through Uganda and Rwanda. I’m a keen Liverpool FC supporter and you’ll find me cheering for my favorite team when not working.
My friends call me Bre and I’m from the historic northern city of Gondar in Ethiopia. After graduating with a degree in Animal and Wildlife Sciences, I worked for the Civic Agricultural Office and then moved to Addis Ababa to study tourism. I’ve worked as a guide ever since, exploring every corner of Ethiopia. After work, you’ll find me kicking back with a bowl of ‘shiro’.
I grew up in Washington, DC, proud of my Chilean-American heritage, and graduated in 2018 with an MBA from Yale. I am using my education to continue to grow Go Further, to create a positive social, environmental and economic impact. I’m not always sure where Go Further will travel next, but I’m very happy to be on the journey!
I was born and raised in Addis Ababa and I’ve seen the growth of Ethiopia’s capital city first-hand and I love sharing the food, history, and culture of my home city. When I’m not guiding tours, I enjoy early morning walks or escaping the capital city to enjoy the beautiful landscapes and nature that surround it.
As a little boy, I moved from Uganda to a village just outside of Akagera National Park. This sparked my desire to undertake the training required to work in sustainable tourism. I spent five years working as a safari guide within the park and I’m as passionate today about Akagera’s biodiversity, landscape and exceptional birdlife as when I started!
I was born in Gondar and worked as a teacher and author of textbooks before qualifying as a tour guide. I enjoy meeting guests from all over the world, hiking and exploring historic and culturally significant sites like Lalibela and Simiens. My favorite food is my mom’s chicken stew, aka ‘doro wot’.
From our friends at Condé Nast Traveller, here’s some fantastic footage that gives you an idea of what your visit to Rwanda might entail.
Go Further was the lead tour company organizing this stunning journey. We were proud to work on this trip and bring greater awareness to the Visit Rwanda campaign. And here’s the full article from Condé Nast Traveller.
